There are various methods to maintain a pet bird in a cage. This is how I do it.....
1.(a) size of cage : moderate (b) assories/fittings : containers to contain food & drinks. (c) A proper place to hang the cage with good ventilation.
The food & drinks should be dailly monitored and the droppings should be cleared daily. Morning sunshine is a must, but you dont have to it daily. You can sun it at
least 4 times a week. This is part of the maintainence schedule.
2.The most important thing is the sincere LOVE & KINDNESS given to your pet at all times. Include it into the family. Then only you will notice that the pet bird will respond to your requests. So I see there is no reason why I cant keep a pet caged. The main purpose as I have said is to house it in a proper premise & to give proper care. The word FREEDOM can be defined in many ways. One way I define it is you dont have to be out of jail to be free. Some people dont have their FREEDOM even at their homes. They are being controlled by their 'bosses' at home,their offices or anywhere. To me FREEDOM means to accept the present state of mind & soul. The expression of freedom is shown in the actions, speach or sounds made by the bird/persons alike. That is why when a pet bird accepts his/hers confinement in a cage, it says " I am free as a bird "
